Associate in Arts:
English Career Pathways

The English Department offers you two Career Pathways, one in Creative Writing and the other in Literature. Becoming alert to the nuances of language impacts every profession and thus provides you with a solid foundation to build upon as you launch your career. A degree in English offers you the opportunity to become deft in the wielding of language; it also provides you with the satisfaction of reading deeply and becoming a thoughtful, original writer and informed citizen. These are essential skills you can use in any field. The English Career Pathways provide a place to start…a place to explore your options.

After you complete the Associate in Arts degree, following either of our English Career Pathways, you will be prepared for transfer to four-year colleges throughout the United States. Moreover, SUNY schools will accept all SUNY general education credits so that transfer students can usually enter as juniors. To ensure seamless transfer, you should learn as much as you can about your baccalaureate program requirements by consulting an advisor here at SUNY Broome, consulting a transfer counselor at the four-year institution, or both.

In any case, our English Career Pathways are your road to a career.

The Pathways will be available for Spring 2017 course selection.
