About: Student Learning Assessment Committee

Committee Charge from Dr. Francis Battisti, Chief Academic Officer:

The Student Learning Assessment Committee is charged with maintaining and reviewing a structure for the assessment of student learning outcomes. The structure encompasses all courses, academic programs, co-curricular programs, general education requirements, and other specific educational experiences offered under the auspices of Broome Community College, irrespective of delivery model, and should incorporate effective mechanisms for responsive improvement.  Informed by the guidelines established by the State University of New York, by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education Team Report and the Commission's action, by the College Self Study recommendations and by our Strategic Directions (2010-15), the Committee continues to act on its ongoing charge.

This campus-wide, sustainable structure provides for appropriate assessment, review by stakeholders and mechanisms by which decision-making is to be informed and communicated at the program/department, division and institutional levels.
